INSPIRED TO SEW - THE CHALLENGE OF 2 FRIENDS FROM SEW EXPO
Linda McGehee, Ghee's
Thursday, 12:30 pm, Expo Runway, 2nd Floor Pavilion
The response to last year's challenge show with Jane and Bonne was so overwhelming, we invited them back! This challenge began in 1995, when Jan and Bonne made their first trek to Puyallup, WA for the Sewing & Stitchery Expo. They agreed to purchase a particular pattern or fabric to make into garments for the next year. They did the "reveal" the following year. For 15 years, the challenges continued and they incorporated class technqiues, emboridery designs, embellishments, threads, notions, etc. You'll see their FOUR 2010 challenge garments, as well as some screen close-ups of techniques from their favorites.

Threads for Life, Meeker Elementary School
Sunday, 10:30 am, Expo Runway, 2nd Floor Pavilion
Now in it’s third year, the “Threads for Life” after-school sewing program in
Puyallup will present a special “Project Kids” Fashion Show. You’ll see both
current and alumni students express their Fashionista style as they proudly
walk the Runway modeling their designs. Their leader, Connie Trach, says,
“these sewists are our future designers—I’d like to encourage everybody to come out and make some noise to celebrate their accomplishment! Also, because Babylock has been very supportive of our “Threads for Life” program, we have invited Steve Jeffery, Babylock President, to be a part of the
show—and the students have a special gift for him.

Bates Technical College
Sunday, 11:30 pm, Expo Runway, 2nd Floor Pavilion
